| A native of Hong Kong, Tai Wai Li started learning piano since he was 10, and earned a Certificate of Distinction from Royal Schools of Music (U.K.) when he was 19. He holds music degrees from University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign and University of Washington, where he studied piano with Prof. Terry Moore. Since moving to Anchorage with his family in 1998, he has been active as a conductor locally; he has directed UAA University Singers, St. John Methodist Church Choir, UAA Sinfonia and Wind Ensemble, and Anchorage Civic Orchestra. He also appeared as a piano accompanist in many local chamber music concerts. Currently Tai Wai is Choir Director and Accompanist of Central Lutheran Church, and Adjunct Instructor of UAA, teaching Chamber Music and Piano Accompanying.
